As we enter a new decade, what better way to reset ourselves for the year ahead than with a focus on the Stretching and Alignment series! This includes work with the foam roller, medicine ball, Scott Sonnen’s IntuFlow series, and the Bando Healing progression.
We’ve been working through the Yellow Tag Abecedarios (the ABCs of Filipino Martial Arts) and looking at the consistency across categories seen in the double stick movements and how they transition to empty hands in the Kali Tudo™, our empty hand sub-system.

Due to the closing of the Krav Maga Center on Cumberland, we are in a transitional phase as we look for a new home. However, the weather is beginning to cooperate as we move into the Fall months, so outdoor classes have again become a possibility.
We will meet at Williamson Park from 6:30 to 8:00. See everyone there!

Guro Edgar Sulite’s Lameco Escrima makes up a core component of both the footwork and basic combinations we look to use early on in Dog Brothers Martial Arts. This month we will be looking at the consistency across categories that this variation will allow us to achieve. Come join us!
A reference to Konrad Lorenz’s deep study on the nature of consciousness, ‘Behind the Mirror’ is a block of material designed to frustrate us by breaking the habits that many Kali practitioners develop over years of pattern training! Instead of working in mirror patterns where the right meets the right, left meets the left, and so on, expect to deal with incoming strikes with a variety of blocks, merges, and follows with either hand. If this drives you batty, fear not! That is the aim of this training. As Guro Crafty Dog would say “it it important to laugh at yourself” [when integrating training of this kind.] See everyone on Tuesday!
Last night at DBMA Memphis: Dos Triques variations. The Cavewoman, and Trique 21. Closed with the Kimura from the guard.
Last Night at DBMA Memphis: Dracula Bolo, seguidas 1-3, a Krabi Sumbrada, and some variations.
